Arraba
With a tantalising display of traditional stone houses, elegant arches and white domed roofs, Arraba is a very attractive town to explore. Located 13km southwest of bustling Jenin, it is a commercial hub in itself for the small surrounding agricultural villages.
The beautiful old town has been lovingly restored while retaining its authenticity. Particularly noteworthy are the large lamps which hang over the streets, providing atmospheric lighting as the sun sets. Rising dramatically out of the historic centre is the impressive Great Mosque, reached by winding stone paths.
Away from the old town, Arraba is a much livelier place but still blessed with classic Arabic architecture and an enticing mix of quirky shops and old ruins.
