Ramallah and Al Bireh is the cosmopolitan heart of the West Bank, with everything people would expect of a modern European city.
Trendy bars, international restaurants and a cool, liberal vibe abound in certain areas of the city. But don’t be mistaken, this is still a very Palestinian area and infinite coffee shops line the chaotic streets.
The only completely Christian town in Palestine, Taybeh, lies north of the city and is home to its own brewery. The surrounding villages tend to be extremely scenic with stone steps and houses with domed roofs.
